Quick answer
ProntX is a London AI SEO agency offering generative engine optimisation (GEO) and answer engine optimisation (AEO) for UK businesses that want to appear in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. We handle entity data, answer-first content, schema, llms.txt and citations, included in SEO plans from £595 a month.
ProntX is an AI SEO agency that gets your business named, quoted and linked in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. We do it with generative engine optimisation (GEO) and answer engine optimisation (AEO): clear entity data, answer-first content, structured markup and mentions on the sources AI tools trust.
The problem
Your buyers now ask an assistant “which accountant in Islington handles small limited companies?” or “best alternatives to a particular software tool” and get one written answer with a handful of names. If you are not in it, you never get the click, and your analytics will not even show the missed demand.
Many businesses that rank well on Google still find themselves absent from these answers, or described with out-of-date services, wrong locations or a competitor’s pricing. That is usually not a content volume problem. It is a clarity and corroboration problem.
What we change
We make it easy for a language model to understand exactly who you are, what you sell, where you work and why you are credible, and we make sure other trusted sites say the same thing. Then we measure, every month, how often you appear for the prompts your buyers actually use.
This work sits on top of solid SEO. Most AI search tools pick their sources from a search index, so we never treat GEO as a replacement for the basics.
What we do
What do our AI SEO services include?
Six workstreams, run together each month: entity optimisation, answer-first content, schema, machine-readable files, citations and digital PR, and AI visibility tracking.
Entity
Entity optimisation
We write one canonical description of your business (name, services, locations, founders, prices where public) and make it consistent across your site, Google Business Profile, LinkedIn, Wikidata where eligible, directories and partner pages. Conflicting facts are the fastest way to be left out of an answer.
Content
Answer-first content
Each key page opens with a 40 to 60 word direct answer that can be quoted on its own, followed by detail, comparisons and FAQs. We rewrite service pages around the real questions buyers ask, using plain facts a model can lift without distortion.
Markup
Schema and structured data
Organization, Service, Person, FAQPage, Product and BreadcrumbList markup, linked by consistent IDs so search engines can connect your brand, your people and your offers. We avoid self-serving review markup that can do more harm than good.
Files
llms.txt and markdown mirrors
A hand-written llms.txt that points AI crawlers to your most useful pages, plus clean markdown versions of key content and a company facts page. We also check robots.txt and your CDN so you are not accidentally blocking the crawlers you want.
Citations
Citations and digital PR
AI answers lean on third-party sources: comparison articles, industry lists, review platforms, forums and trade press. We find the sources cited for your prompts and work to get you listed, quoted or reviewed on them.
Tracking
AI visibility tracking
We agree a fixed set of prompts with you, run them across the main assistants every month and report your share of voice against named competitors: mentioned, cited with a link, or absent.
Proof of practice
Why trust ProntX with generative engine optimisation?
Because we run every technique on our own website first. ProntX is not selling a theory: our site is built to be read by AI systems as well as people.
- A hand-written llms.txt, not a plugin default
- Markdown mirrors of our service and insight pages
- A company facts page written for AI assistants to quote
- Organization, Service, OfferCatalog, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList, Article and Person schema
- Answer-first summaries at the top of every service page, including this one
- “Ask AI about us” links so visitors can check our claims in their own assistant
Most agencies selling AI search optimisation have no llms.txt or rely on an auto-generated one, and few apply clean schema to their own pages. You can inspect ours before you sign anything, which is the simplest test we know of whether an agency understands the work.
The same senior team also builds websites and AI chatbots and agents, so we understand how retrieval and language models handle content from the engineering side, not just from marketing blogs.
GEO vs AEO
What is the difference between GEO, AEO and LLM SEO?
They are three labels for overlapping work. GEO targets generated answers in tools like ChatGPT, AEO targets direct answers such as featured snippets and voice results, and LLM SEO is a broader term for both.
| Term | Where the answer appears | What matters most |
|---|---|---|
| Generative engine optimisation (GEO) | ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, Google AI Mode | Entity clarity, third-party corroboration, quotable passages |
| Answer engine optimisation (AEO) | Google AI Overviews, featured snippets, People Also Ask, voice assistants | Question-led headings, short direct answers, FAQ and HowTo structure |
| LLM SEO | Any tool built on a large language model | Crawl access, structured data, consistent facts across the web |
In practice we run them as one programme. The prompt set we track includes both conversational questions and classic search queries that trigger AI Overviews.
Measurement
How do you measure visibility in ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews?
With a fixed prompt set run on a schedule, so month-on-month changes mean something. Rankings are not stable in AI tools, so a single screenshot proves very little.
Building your prompt set
In the first month we agree 30 to 100 prompts with you, grouped by intent: category questions (“best payroll software for small UK firms”), local questions (“emergency electrician near Wimbledon”), comparison questions (“X vs Y”) and brand questions (“is [your brand] any good?”). We include the competitors you lose deals to.
Running it the same way every time
Each prompt runs across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, from a UK location, in a clean session. We log whether you are mentioned, whether you are linked as a source, how you are described and which other sites are cited.
Your monthly share-of-voice report
- Share of voice per assistant and per prompt group
- Your position against each named competitor
- Incorrect or outdated statements about your business
- The third-party sources driving competitor mentions
- Referral traffic from AI tools in your analytics
- Actions completed and next month’s priorities
We also add “ChatGPT or another AI assistant” as an option in your enquiry form, so you can see which leads came from AI search.
What we avoid
Which AI SEO tactics do we refuse to use?
Anything that tries to trick a model rather than inform it. Those tactics tend to stop working quickly, and some can damage how search engines treat your site.
- Hidden text or prompt instructions aimed at AI crawlers
- Mass-produced AI articles published without editing or fact checks
- Fake reviews, invented awards or made-up statistics
- Buying placements on low-quality “best of” lists
- Self-serving review schema on your own service pages
AI assistants are built to cross-check claims. If your website says one thing and the rest of the web says another, or the only sources praising you are ones you paid for, you are more likely to be ignored. Our approach is slower to set up but compounds: accurate facts, genuinely useful answers and real third-party coverage keep working as the models change.
We use AI tools ourselves for research and drafting, but every page we publish is edited and fact-checked by a person who knows your business.

Who needs AI search optimisation now?
Any business whose buyers research before they contact anyone. It matters most where the answer to “who should I use?” is a shortlist.
B2B and SaaS
Buyers ask assistants for vendor shortlists and comparisons long before they book a demo. Being on that shortlist is pipeline. Pair this with our B2B SEO work on comparison pages.
Professional services
Law firms, accountants and consultants are increasingly recommended by name in AI answers. Accurate practice areas, credentials and locations decide who gets mentioned.
Ecommerce brands
Product recommendations in ChatGPT and AI Mode draw on reviews, product feeds and editorial roundups. Clean product data and third-party coverage both count.
Local businesses
AI Overviews and assistants answer “near me” questions using Google Business Profile, reviews and directories. Consistent local data is the starting point.
Our free growth audit includes a quick check of how ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews currently describe your business. A senior strategist records it as a personal video within 2 working days.

Talk to us
What is generative engine optimisation (GEO)?
GEO is the practice of making your business easy for AI tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini to find, understand and recommend. It combines consistent entity information, quotable answer-first content, structured data and mentions on the third-party sources those tools draw from. The aim is to be named or cited in the written answer, not just listed as a link.
Is AI SEO different from normal SEO?
It builds on normal SEO rather than replacing it. Most AI assistants choose sources from a search index, so crawlable, well-ranked pages still matter. AI SEO adds a stronger focus on entity consistency, short quotable answers, third-party corroboration and a different way of measuring success: share of voice across prompts instead of a single ranking position.
Can you guarantee we will appear in ChatGPT?
No. Nobody controls what a language model says, and answers vary between sessions and users. What we can do is remove the reasons you are being left out, such as conflicting facts, blocked crawlers or missing third-party coverage, and then measure your share of voice on a fixed prompt set so you can see whether it is improving month by month.
What is llms.txt and do I need one?
llms.txt is a plain text file at the root of your site that points AI systems to your most useful pages and summarises what your business does. Support varies between AI providers, so it is not a ranking switch, but it costs little to do properly and helps tools that read it. We write it by hand rather than using a plugin default, as we do on the ProntX site.
How long does AI search optimisation take?
Fixes to crawl access, schema and on-site facts can be picked up within weeks by assistants that search the web live. Changes that depend on third-party coverage and model updates take longer, often three to six months. We set a baseline in month one so every later report compares like with like.
Which AI tools do you track?
By default we track ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews from a UK location, because those drive most AI referrals for UK businesses. We can add Microsoft Copilot or Google AI Mode where your buyers use them. The prompt set and tools stay fixed between reports so the numbers are comparable.
How much does AI SEO cost?
AI search optimisation is included in every one of our SEO plans from £595 a month ex VAT, on a rolling monthly contract. Larger prompt sets and active digital PR usually sit in our Growth range. A standalone GEO audit is available on a fixed quote after a short call. See full details on our pricing page.
Will AI search reduce my website traffic?
For some informational searches, yes: people get the answer without clicking. Visitors who do click through from an AI answer have often already compared options and tend to be closer to buying. That is why we track AI referrals and enquiry source, not just total sessions, and focus content on commercial questions where a recommendation leads to contact.
