Quick answer
ProntX is a London local SEO agency helping UK service businesses, from dentists and solicitors to plumbers and restaurants, appear in the Google map pack and AI 'near me' answers. We manage Google Business Profile, reviews, citations and location pages, with local SEO services from £595 a month on rolling contracts.
ProntX is a local SEO agency for businesses that win customers within a few miles of their door or van. We help you show up in the Google map pack, on Google Maps and in AI answers to “near me” searches, through Google Business Profile management, reviews, citations and location pages that are actually useful.
Who our local SEO services are for
Dentists, solicitors, accountants, clinics, restaurants, estate agents and trades such as plumbers, electricians and roofers. Some of our clients have one premises in a London borough. Others are service-area businesses covering several towns with no public address at all. Both can rank locally, but the setup is different, and getting it wrong can get a profile suspended.
Why local search is its own discipline
Local results are decided mainly by three things Google has described publicly: relevance, distance and prominence. You cannot move your office closer to every searcher, so the work focuses on relevance (categories, services, page content) and prominence (reviews, citations, links and local mentions). That is very different from ranking a national blog post, which is why we treat local SEO as a separate service within our wider SEO offer.

Ranking factors
How do you get into the Google map pack?
By being the most relevant and most trusted option close to the searcher. These are the local ranking factors we work on, roughly in the order they usually pay off.
1
Google Business Profile categories and completeness
Your primary category is one of the strongest local signals you control. We compare the categories of the businesses that hold the top three map positions for your money searches, then set yours to match what you genuinely do. Missing services, wrong hours and empty descriptions are fixed in week one.
2
Reviews: volume, freshness and content
A steady flow of genuine reviews that mention the service and area beats a burst of fifty in one month. We set up a simple text or email request after each job, give your team a script, and reply to every review so prospects see you care. We never buy or gate reviews.
3
Consistent NAP and citations
Your business name, address and phone number need to match everywhere: your site, Google, Apple Maps, Bing Places, Yell, Yelp, Facebook and industry directories. Old addresses and tracking numbers confuse Google and AI assistants alike. We find and correct them.
4
Local landing pages with substance
A page per area only works if each page is genuinely different: who you have helped there, travel times, local regulations, parking, photos from real jobs. We build fewer, stronger pages rather than hundreds of thin doorway pages that put your site at risk.
Why ProntX
Why choose ProntX as your local SEO agency?
Because we measure what a local business cares about, calls and bookings, and we can fix your website in the same project. Plus you can leave any month.
Grid tracking, not one ranking
Map rankings change street by street. We track your position across a grid of points around your premises or service area, so you can see where you win and where a competitor still dominates.
Website and profile together
Your Google Business Profile links to your site, and Google reads both. When your site needs better service pages or faster mobile load times, our small business web design team handles it, rather than leaving it on a to-do list.
Your profile stays yours
We are added as a manager on your Google Business Profile. You remain the owner, always. Too many local businesses have lost profiles to agencies that registered them in their own name.
London and UK
Do you offer local SEO services across the UK?
Yes. We are based in London and know the borough-level competition well, but we run local SEO for businesses anywhere in the UK, single location or multi-site.
Local SEO in London
London local search is dense. A search for “dentist” in Shoreditch and one in Wimbledon return completely different map packs, and a central London business can be outranked by a competitor two streets closer to the searcher. We focus on the neighbourhoods and postcodes where your customers actually are, not “London” as a whole, which is too broad to rank for in the map pack.
Multi-location and service-area businesses
If you have several branches, each needs its own verified profile, its own location page and its own review stream. If you are a service-area business working from home, we hide the address correctly, define your service areas and build visibility through content and citations instead. Either way the reporting is per location, so you can compare branches.
Sectors
Which local businesses do you work with?
Any business where customers search, compare and call within a short distance. We have specific playbooks for the sectors below.
Dentists
Treatment pages, NHS and private clarity, review flow from reception, and categories for implants, Invisalign and emergency care.
Law firms
Practice area pages, solicitor profiles with credentials, and careful review handling for conveyancing, family and employment law.
Trades
Emergency and service-area setup for plumbers, electricians and roofers, with job photos and postcode coverage pages.
Hospitality and retail
Menus, booking links, product listings and event posts that keep a profile active and converting at busy times.
Local and AI
Does local SEO help with AI search and voice assistants?
Yes. When someone asks ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews or a voice assistant for a local recommendation, the answer usually draws on the same data local SEO improves: your Google Business Profile, reviews, directory listings and website.
AI answers to local questions tend to name a small number of businesses and give a reason for each, such as “highly rated for emergency call-outs” or “specialises in leasehold conveyancing”. Those reasons come from review text, profile descriptions and third-party listings. If your reviews never mention the services you want to be known for, an assistant has nothing to quote.
So we encourage customers to describe the job in their review, keep your services and descriptions specific, and make sure Apple Maps and Bing Places match Google, since several assistants rely on them. We then check a small set of local prompts each month as part of the wider AI search optimisation work included in every plan.

How do I know if my local SEO is working?
Look at calls, direction requests and bookings from your Google Business Profile, not just rankings. We put those numbers at the top of every monthly report.
In the first month we set a baseline: your grid rankings for five to ten core searches, your review count and rating against the top three competitors, and the calls and website clicks your profile drives. Every report after that compares against the same baseline, so you can see whether more people are finding and contacting you.
Our free growth audit includes a look at your Google Business Profile, reviews and map pack position against your nearest competitors, recorded as a personal video within 2 working days.

What is local SEO?
Local SEO is the work of getting a business found in location-based searches, such as 'accountant near me' or 'emergency plumber Croydon'. It covers your Google Business Profile, reviews, directory listings, location pages on your website and local links. The goal is to appear in the map pack and Google Maps results, which sit above the normal organic listings for most local searches.
How long does local SEO take?
Profile fixes such as categories, services and hours can change map pack positions within a few weeks. Building review volume, citations and local links usually takes three to six months to show its full effect, especially in competitive London areas. We set a grid baseline in month one so you can see movement street by street rather than guessing.
Can you rank me across all of London?
Not in the map pack, and any agency that promises it is overselling. Map results depend heavily on distance from the searcher, so one location will rank strongly nearby and weaker further away. We focus on the areas you serve best and use location pages and organic rankings to reach wider areas where it makes sense.
Do I need a physical address for local SEO?
No. Service-area businesses such as mobile trades or home-visit therapists can verify a Google Business Profile with the address hidden and list the areas they cover. Ranking is harder without a public address in some searches, so we lean more on website content, citations and reviews that mention the areas you work in.
How do you get more Google reviews?
By asking every happy customer at the right moment, in a way that takes them seconds. We set up a short text or email with a direct review link after each job or appointment, give your team a simple script, and track response rates. We never buy reviews, offer incentives or filter unhappy customers out, as all of these break Google's rules.
How much do local SEO services cost?
ProntX local SEO starts from £595 a month ex VAT for a single location on a rolling contract. Competitive sectors such as legal or dental, or businesses with several branches, typically cost more because each location needs its own profile, pages and review stream. See our pricing page for how our plans compare.
Should I run Google Ads as well as local SEO?
Often, yes, at least at the start. Local search ads and Local Services Ads can bring calls in immediately while organic visibility builds, and the search term data tells us which services convert best. Many clients reduce paid spend once map pack positions are strong. Our Google Ads team works from the same data as our SEO team.
Will you own my Google Business Profile?
No. You stay the primary owner and we are added as a manager. If you already have an agency or former employee listed as owner, we help you reclaim it. That way, if you ever stop working with us, your profile, reviews and photos stay exactly where they are.
