Web design for MK
Web design agency for Milton Keynes businesses
Milton Keynes launches new businesses faster than most UK cities. We build fast, search-ready websites at a fixed price, and you own every part of them from day one.
- Fixed price, agreed up front
- You own domain and code
- Built ready for SEO
Quick answer
ProntX is a London web design agency building websites for Milton Keynes start-ups, trades, professional firms and B2B suppliers. Sites are fast, mobile-first and built for SEO and enquiries, from £1,950 as a fixed-price project, or £3,950 for ecommerce. You own the domain, hosting access and code outright.
ProntX is a web design agency for Milton Keynes businesses that need a website to win work, not just look tidy. MK has one of the highest business start-up rates in the UK and thousands of micro firms, so a lot of the sites we see here were built in a hurry: a template, a stock photo of the city skyline and no clear way to get in touch.
What a Milton Keynes website has to do
Your customers are likely to find you on a phone, from a search such as “Milton Keynes web design” or “electrician Bletchley”, and decide in seconds. The site has to load fast, say exactly what you do and where, show proof, and make calling or booking easy. For B2B firms selling into MK’s logistics, finance and tech employers, it also has to answer the questions a procurement team asks before shortlisting a supplier.
How we build
Our web design service starts with the enquiries you want, then plans pages around the searches that lead to them. We write or edit the copy with you, design for mobile first, and build on WordPress or Shopify so you can update the site yourself. SEO foundations, analytics and conversion tracking are included, not sold later as extras.
Who we build for
What kind of websites do Milton Keynes businesses need?
It depends on how you sell. A new trade on a growing estate, a consultancy in CMK and a warehouse operator near the M1 need very different sites.
Start-ups and micro firms
A first site that brings work
Lean, five to ten page sites with clear services, areas covered, reviews and a simple quote form. Built to grow as you add services, rather than rebuilt in a year.
Trades and local services
Calls from your part of MK
Service and area pages for the districts you work in, from Wolverton to Newport Pagnell, with click-to-call, before-and-after galleries and Google reviews pulled in.
B2B, logistics and tech
Credibility for procurement
Case studies, accreditations, sector pages, careers and recruitment sections, and fast answers to technical questions. Many MK B2B firms also use the site to hire.
Milton Keynes visitors navigate by grid roads, districts and business parks, not street names alone. For premises in CMK or on an industrial estate, we add directions by grid road and roundabout, parking details and a map, because a visitor who gets lost on the grid may not try again. For service firms, we list the old towns and estates you cover in plain words, and for employers we build a careers page that mentions shift patterns and the bus and redway routes staff can use.

Ownership
Will I own my website?
Yes, completely. The domain is registered in your name, you hold the hosting login, and the code and design are yours when the project is paid.
UK business forums are full of owners who discovered, often years later, that their designer registered the domain in the designer’s own name, kept the hosting login, or wrote terms saying the design stayed theirs. Leaving then meant paying a transfer fee or starting again. It happens in MK as much as anywhere, particularly with cheap packages bundled with hosting.
We put ownership in writing before any work starts: domain, hosting, admin access, design files and code. You can host with us or anyone else, and you can change supplier at any time without asking permission. It is the same rule we apply to ad accounts and analytics.
Whoever builds your site, ask three questions: whose name is the domain registered in, will I have the main admin login, and does the contract transfer copyright to me on payment? If any answer is vague, get it fixed in the contract.
Pricing
How much does web design cost in Milton Keynes?
ProntX websites start at £1,950 as a fixed-price project, ex VAT. Ecommerce sites start at £3,950.
| Project | Typical fit | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Business website | Start-ups, trades and local services, up to around ten pages | From £1,950 |
| Larger service or B2B site | More pages, sector and case study sections, careers, integrations | Typically £3,000 to £6,000 |
| Ecommerce | Shopify or WooCommerce shop with payments, shipping and product feeds | From £3,950 |
Local MK pricing guides put simple brochure sites anywhere from under £1,000 to a few thousand pounds, and the gap is usually what is left out: copy, SEO set-up, tracking or ownership. Your final price depends on scope and is fixed before work starts. See the full breakdown on our pricing page, or read more about ecommerce web design.
After launch
What happens after my Milton Keynes website goes live?
You can run it yourself, or we can grow it with SEO and ads. There is no obligation either way.
A new site does not rank by itself. Many MK clients add SEO in Milton Keynes to build visibility around their area pages, or a digital marketing plan that combines search, ads and social. Because the same team built the site, nothing gets lost in a handover.
ProntX has no Milton Keynes office; we run projects through video calls, a shared plan and staged previews, with meetings by arrangement. Want an honest view of your current site? Ask for a free website review, recorded as a personal video within two working days.

Web Design in other places
How much does a website cost in Milton Keynes?
Our websites start at £1,950 ex VAT as a fixed-price project, which covers a business site of up to around ten pages with copy support, SEO set-up and tracking. Larger B2B sites typically cost £3,000 to £6,000, and ecommerce starts at £3,950. Local quotes vary widely, so compare what is included, not just the headline figure.
How long does it take to build a website?
Most business websites take four to eight weeks from the first session to launch. The biggest factor is usually content: having your service details, photos and reviews ready speeds things up. Ecommerce and larger B2B sites take longer because of product data, integrations and testing.
Do I own the website and domain?
Yes. The domain is registered in your name, you get the main admin login and hosting access, and copyright in the design and code passes to you on payment. We put this in the contract before work starts, because forum horror stories about designers keeping domains are far too common.
Do I need a local Milton Keynes web designer?
Not necessarily. Most web projects run through calls, shared plans and preview links wherever the designer is based. What matters is a clear process, a fixed price, ownership in writing and someone who understands your customers. We work remotely from London and can meet by arrangement.
Will my new website rank on Google?
It will be built to rank: clean code, fast pages, sensible structure, schema, titles and area pages based on real searches. Ranking for competitive MK terms still takes ongoing work such as content, reviews and links. Many clients add SEO after launch.
Can I update the website myself?
Yes. We build on WordPress or Shopify, set up simple editing for text, images and blog posts, and record a training video for your team. You will not need to pay us for small changes, though we are happy to help when you want bigger updates.
Can you redesign my existing site without losing rankings?
Yes. Before rebuilding we record your current pages, rankings and backlinks, keep URLs where we can, and map redirects for any that change. After launch we monitor Search Console for errors. Most rankings dips after redesigns come from missing redirects, which is avoidable.
Do you build sites for start-ups on a tight budget?
Yes. Our £1,950 starting price is designed for new and small businesses. If your budget is lower, we can plan a smaller first version that launches quickly and grows later, rather than a cheap template you will need to replace in a year.
