Quick answer

ProntX is a dental social media marketing agency for UK practices. Social media marketing for dentists starts from £650 a month, rolling monthly.

Patients who are nervous about the dentist, or weighing up thousands of pounds on implants or aligners, want to know who will be treating them before they book. Dental social media marketing answers that question. ProntX helps UK practices show their clinicians, their rooms and their approach on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, then turns that familiarity into consultation bookings with carefully targeted paid social.

What social does well for a practice

Dentists who post regularly about their work often report that new patients arrive better prepared: they have seen the treatment explained, know what the clinic looks like and feel less anxious. That is the real job of social media marketing for dentists. It shortens the trust gap that search results and a website alone cannot close.

What it does less well

Social is not where people look when they have toothache tonight; that is Google Maps. And loosely targeted promotions can fill your inbox with enquiries from people who are not suitable for treatment or only want the cheapest price. We plan around both facts, so social supports your search presence rather than pretending to replace it.

Content

What should a dental practice post on social media?

Content that a nervous or curious patient would actually find useful, fronted by real people from your practice. These five formats carry most of the work.

Explainers

Clinician answers in under a minute

“Does composite bonding damage your teeth?” “What happens at an implant consultation?” One question, one dentist, one short video. These are the posts patients save and send to partners.

Behind the scenes

The practice and the team

Reception staff, nurses, hygienists, the decontamination room, the view from the chair. Familiar faces reduce anxiety more than any slogan.

Patient stories

Consented, representative cases

Real patients talking about their experience, or treatment journeys shared with written consent, unretouched images and a clear note that suitability depends on assessment.

Practical

Fees, finance and access

What a consultation costs, how payment plans work, parking, step-free access, evening appointments. Plain information that removes reasons not to book.

Community

Local life

School visits, charity events, sports team sponsorship and welcome posts for new clinicians, which also give local people a reason to follow and share.

Rules

How do GDC and advertising rules apply to dental social media?

Social posts are advertising, so the same standards apply as on your website. We write to them from the start, and your compliance lead approves clinical content before it goes out.

Every post we plan

  • Notes that treatment may not suit everyone and depends on assessment
  • Uses “specialist” only for dentists on a GDC specialist list
  • Shows genuine, unretouched images with the patient’s written consent
  • Keeps fee mentions accurate and current
  • Avoids comparing your clinicians’ skills with other dentists

What we will not publish

  • Anti-wrinkle injection promotions, as these are prescription-only medicines
  • Promises of pain-free treatment or a perfect smile
  • Countdown offers that pressure people into clinical decisions
  • Influencer posts without clear ad disclosure
  • Replies that confirm someone is a patient or discuss their care in public

Production

How do you get busy dentists to make content?

By asking for very little of their time. One filming session a month, planned in advance, usually gives us enough material for four weeks of posts.

Before each session we send a short list of questions drawn from the queries your reception team hears most. A clinician answers them on camera between patients or at the end of a list, using a phone and a simple microphone; polished studio footage tends to perform worse than honest, well-lit phone video. We edit, caption and schedule everything, and send the month’s posts for approval in one batch.

Patient consent is handled with a simple written form covering which images or video can be used, on which channels and for how long, stored with the practice. Comments and direct messages are monitored on weekdays: general questions get a quick answer, and anything clinical or personal is moved to a private channel and passed to the practice.

Paid social

Do Facebook and Instagram ads work for dentists?

They can for elective treatments such as aligners, whitening, bonding and implant consultations, when the targeting is local, the offer is honest and the follow-up is fast. They rarely suit routine check-ups.

Built for suitable enquiries

Meta has narrowed health-related targeting, so we rely on location, age ranges, creative and questions in the lead form. A couple of qualifying questions, such as the treatment of interest and whether the person understands a consultation fee applies, filter out many unsuitable enquiries before they reach reception.

Followed up within the hour

Social leads cool quickly. Each enquiry triggers an instant acknowledgement and a call or message from the practice the same day. Results are tracked as booked consultations, not form fills. Our paid social team manages the budget, which you pay directly to Meta.

Platforms

Which social platforms suit a dental practice?

Most practices do best focusing on two platforms rather than spreading thinly across five. The right two depend on your patients and treatments.

Platform Best use for a practice Suits
Instagram Reels explaining treatments, team stories, consented results Cosmetic, aligner and private practices
Facebook Local community posts, practice news, lead form ads Family and mixed practices, older patients
TikTok Short myth-busting and day-in-the-life clips Practices targeting younger adults
YouTube Longer treatment walkthroughs to embed on your site Implant and complex restorative clinics

Video made for social also strengthens your website: an explainer embedded on a treatment page gives patients a reason to stay and supports SEO for dentists.

Why ProntX

How does ProntX measure dental social media?

By consultations booked and patients who mention social when they register, with reach and engagement shown only as supporting detail. If a platform is not contributing after a fair test, we say so and move the effort elsewhere.

Tracking

Every enquiry tagged

Lead forms, direct messages, link clicks and calls from social profiles are tagged by platform and campaign, then matched to bookings recorded by reception.

One team

Joined up with search

The same ProntX team runs your local SEO and website, so treatment videos, reviews and Maps posts reinforce each other instead of being planned in isolation.

Ownership

Your pages, your ad account

Profiles, the Meta business account and all footage belong to the practice. Rolling monthly terms mean you can stop at any point and keep everything.

FAQ

Dental social media questions, answered

Still unsure? Ask us anything. We reply within one working day.

Does social media actually bring new dental patients?

It can, mostly for elective treatments and by building trust before someone books. Patients who have watched your clinicians explain a treatment tend to arrive better prepared and less anxious. Social is weaker for urgent care, which is decided in Google Maps, so we treat it as part of a wider plan rather than the only channel.

Can we post before-and-after photos on Instagram?

Usually yes, if the images are of your own patients, used with written consent, not retouched in a misleading way and representative of typical results. Each post should note that treatment depends on individual assessment. Your compliance lead signs off every case before we publish it.

How often should a dental practice post?

Consistency matters more than volume. Two or three good posts a week on two platforms, plus stories when something is happening at the practice, is enough for most practices to stay visible without exhausting the team. Short clinician videos usually outperform graphics, so we prioritise those.

Our dentists do not want to be on camera. Can social still work?

Yes, though it works best with at least one willing face. Nurses, hygienists, treatment coordinators and reception staff are often natural on camera, and practice tours and patient stories need little clinician time. We keep filming short and send questions in advance so nobody is put on the spot.

Can we use influencers to promote treatments?

You can, with care. Any paid or gifted promotion must be clearly labelled as advertising, claims must be accurate and supportable, and treatment must still follow a proper clinical assessment. Prescription-only medicines cannot be promoted at all. We advise against influencer deals that imply guaranteed results.

How do you handle negative comments?

We reply politely, never confirm whether the person is a patient and never discuss treatment in public. The comment is passed to the practice with a suggested private response so it can be resolved through your complaints procedure. Only spam or abusive comments are hidden.

Why do our Facebook ads bring unsuitable enquiries?

Usually because the offer is price-led, the targeting is broad and the form asks nothing. We use honest offers, local targeting and one or two qualifying questions in the form, then follow up quickly. That tends to reduce volume slightly but increases the number of people who book and attend.

How much should a practice spend on paid social?

Start with a modest test budget for one treatment and measure cost per booked consultation, then scale what works. The right amount depends on treatment value and capacity. Ad spend is paid by you directly to Meta, separate from our management fee, so you always see exactly what is spent.
