Dentist web design
Web design for dentists that answers patients before they ask
Dental practice websites with GDC information built into every template, clear fees, online booking linked to your practice software and pages written for nervous patients.
- GDC details in every template
- Online booking integrated
- You own the website
Quick answer
ProntX provides web design for dentists across the UK. We build fast, accessible practice websites with GDC-required information on every relevant page, clear fee and finance pages, clinician profiles and online booking linked to your practice software. Dental websites start from £1,950 as a fixed-price project, and the practice owns the domain, site and content.
A dental website is often the second thing a patient sees, straight after your Google Maps listing. In a few seconds they want to know whether you take new patients, whether you are NHS or private, what things cost and whether the people look kind. ProntX offers web design for dentists that answers those questions clearly, includes the information the GDC expects practice websites to show, and makes booking simple on a phone.
Why practices rebuild
The reasons we hear most: the site was built years ago and is slow on mobile; the booking button opens a separate system that confuses patients; fees are out of date or missing; nobody at the practice can edit it; or it sits on a monthly rental plan where the practice does not own the design or content. Each of these costs enquiries quietly.
Who our dentist web design suits
Independent private practices, mixed NHS and private practices, implant and orthodontic clinics, squat practices preparing to open and groups that need one brand with a page per site. Every build is designed to support dental SEO from day one, so you are not paying later to fix the foundations.
Compliance built in
What must a UK dental website include?
GDC guidance on advertising sets out information that practice and clinician pages should carry. We build it into the templates, so it appears automatically and stays consistent when pages are added.
Practice information
- Practice name, address, phone number and email
- Whether the practice provides NHS, private or mixed treatment
- Details of the GDC and a link to its register
- Your complaints procedure and who to contact
- The date the site was last updated
Clinician information
- Each dentist’s name and professional qualifications
- The country where each qualification was obtained
- GDC registration number for every named clinician
- “Specialist” only for those on a GDC specialist list
- A clear “special interest” wording option for everyone else
We add a simple editorial checklist to the content management system, so when your team adds a new clinician or treatment page later, the same details are prompted. Final approval of clinical content sits with your practice’s compliance lead.
Squat practices and groups
A practice that has not opened yet needs a site live before the doors open, with a launch page, registration interest form and opening date, so the Google Business Profile has somewhere credible to point. Groups need the opposite: one consistent brand, a location section for each practice with its own team, fees and hours, and a structure that lets each site rank in its own area without duplicating text. We plan both cases at the wireframe stage.
Page by page
Which pages does a dental practice website need?
Fewer, better pages than most practices expect. These are the ones that do the work, in roughly the order patients use them.
Decide
New patients page
Are you accepting patients, how registration works, membership plans, what the first visit includes and costs, and a booking button. Often the most visited page after the homepage.
Compare
Fees and finance
A clear fee list with “from” prices, what is included, how finance or payment plans work and any NHS bands. Accurate prices reduce time-wasting calls and build trust.
Research
Treatment pages
One page per treatment you want to grow, structured so patients can scan suitability, process, timescales, risks, aftercare and fees, with an embedded explainer video where you have one.
Trust
Meet the team
Profiles for every clinician and key team members, with real photos. Patients choosing a dentist for complex work often read these first.
Act
Emergency appointments
How to get seen today, the emergency fee, opening times and a large phone button. Written to match your Google Business Profile hours exactly.
Visit
Practice and access
Location, parking, public transport, step-free access, accessibility features and photos of the waiting area and surgeries, which help anxious patients picture the visit.
Anxious patients
How should a dental website be designed for nervous patients?
Calm, plain and predictable. Patients who avoid the dentist look for reassurance and control, so the design removes surprises and makes contact low-pressure.
We use real photographs of your team and rooms instead of stock smiles, soft but accessible colour contrast and short paragraphs. Each treatment page explains step by step what happens, how long it takes and what it feels like, in your clinicians’ words. A dedicated page for nervous patients describes your approach, such as longer appointments, sedation options if you offer them, or signals to pause during treatment.
Contact options suit different comfort levels: phone for those who want to talk, an online form or booking for those who would rather not, and a short note on what happens after they get in touch. We avoid pop-ups, autoplay video and countdown offers, which feel pushy on a health website and work against the trust you are trying to build.
Under the bonnet
What technical features should a dentist website have?
Speed, accessibility, structured data, tracking and a booking flow that stays on brand. These are built in as standard on ProntX dental sites.
- Online booking linked to your practice management software where it offers an integration
- Booking scripts loaded so they do not slow every page
- Mobile-first layouts tested on mid-range phones and slow connections
- Accessibility to WCAG 2.2 AA as the target: contrast, headings, keyboard use
- Dentist and clinician structured data for search engines and AI assistants
- Call, form and booking tracking by page and source
- Cookie consent that only loads analytics after permission
- Secure forms that do not collect clinical details by default
- Redirects from every old URL so existing rankings carry over
- Editing training so your team can update fees, hours and news
Ownership
Should a dental practice rent or own its website?
Own it. Low-cost monthly website plans can look attractive, but many keep the design, content or domain if you stop paying, which makes switching painful.
With ProntX the practice owns the domain, the hosting account if you want it in your name, the site files and every word and photo. The build is a fixed-price project, and after launch you can host and maintain it yourself, use any developer, or ask us to look after it. Treatment pages you paid for remain yours whatever you decide.
If you already have a site that performs reasonably, a full rebuild may not be necessary. Our website review will tell you whether targeted fixes, such as a new fees page, faster booking or clinician profiles, would achieve most of the benefit for less. FAQ
Dental website questions, answered
Still unsure? Ask us anything. We reply within one working day.
What information must a dental website show?
GDC guidance expects practice websites to show the practice name, address, contact details, NHS or private status, GDC details, a complaints procedure and the date last updated. Pages naming a dentist should include their qualifications, where they were obtained and their GDC number. We build these into templates, and your compliance lead approves the final content.
How long does it take to build a dental practice website?
Most practice sites take four to eight weeks from the point content is agreed. The slowest part is usually gathering clinician details, fees and photos, so we give you a simple checklist at the start. Larger clinics with many treatment pages or custom booking integrations can take longer.
Can you connect online booking to our practice software?
Usually, if your practice management system offers an online booking widget or link. We integrate it so patients stay on your branded site where possible and we load the script so it does not slow every page. If your software has no online booking, we build a request form that reception confirms.
Should we show our fees on the website?
Yes. Patients expect to see prices before contacting a private practice, and clear fees reduce calls from people who are not a fit. Show from prices, what is included and finance options, and keep the list accurate. Headline prices should not hide unavoidable extra charges.
Can we use before-and-after photos on the site?
Yes, when they are genuine images of your own patients, used with written consent, not retouched misleadingly and representative of typical outcomes. Each case should include the treatment, timescale and a note that results vary and depend on assessment. Your practice approves every image before it goes live.
Will a new website affect our Google rankings?
It can improve them, but a careless rebuild can also lose rankings. We map every old URL to its new equivalent with redirects, keep content that already ranks, and check indexing after launch. Most practices see faster pages and clearer treatment content help search visibility over the following months.
Do we own the website you build?
Yes. The domain, design, files, text and images belong to your practice. You can host it wherever you like and use any developer in future. That is different from many low-cost monthly website plans, where leaving can mean losing the site, its content and sometimes the domain your patients already know.
Can our team update the website ourselves?
Yes. We build on a content management system and train your team to update fees, opening hours, team profiles and news. Treatment page templates prompt for the information patients and regulators expect, so new pages stay consistent. If you would rather not edit anything, we can make small updates for you on request.
